Proposition 2 - Parks & Recreation
Citizens of New Braunfels enjoy a higher than average quality of life, due in part to our Parks & Recreation opportunities. This bond proposal includes park enhancements, phase one of a 150+ acre sports complex, and a much-needed riverbank stabilization.

All Abilities
Several parks will benefit from the allocation of funding for the installation of all ability enhancements. These additions make our parks more welcoming and inclusive for visitors of all abilities. Furthermore, City Staff has worked with a national grant program. We're happy to announce that the City will receive a 1:1 fund match, doubling the $500,000 approved by voters.
Zipp Family Sports Park
This park, located at Klein Road and FM 1044 intersection, will span over 150 acres and include soccer, baseball, softball, concessions, restrooms, shading, and parking. The project was originally envisioned in a Sports Complex Study in 2006. In 2013, voters approved a bond that included land for the project. In 2019, Voters approved a bond that included funds for construction for Phase 1 of the project, and the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation committed to an additional 15 million dollars for this phase. Phase 1 of the project is in the final design stages and is anticipated to begin construction in fall 2023. Additional phases of the project will follow when funding is available.
