Department Divisions

Administration Division

The Administration Division oversees the department's strategic direction, budget, internal affairs, and administrative support. It also ensures the smooth operation and coordination of all other divisions within NBPD. Key responsibilities include department leadership and oversight, budget and finance, internal affairs and professional standards, and community outreach and policy development.

Patrol Division

As the most visible part of NBPD, the Patrol Division is responsible for responding to calls for service, conducting traffic enforcement, and maintaining a visible presence throughout the city to deter crime and assist the public.

Criminal Investigations Division

The Criminal Investigations Division handles in-depth investigations of theft, assault, and more serious offenses. Detectives in this division work closely with victims, witnesses, and other agencies to bring offenders to justice.

Chaplain Program

The New Braunfels Police Department Chaplain Program provides spiritual and emotional support to officers, civilian staff, their families, and members of the public (when requested by the department). Chaplains offer confidential counseling and guidance and serve as a steady presence during times of crisis. They assist during natural disasters, fatal incidents, and other emergencies.
