Hill Country MHDD – Local Mental Health Authority

A nonprofit entity that provides community mental health services in Comal County by promoting independence, community integration, and recovery. Provides services for community mental health, veterans, developmental disabilities, substance misuse, and a mobile crisis outreach team to respond to mental health emergency situations. Local transportation can be provided for appointments.

Their mission includes the provision of valued services to adults with serious mental illness; to children and adolescents with serious mental illness or emotional disorders, autism or pervasive developmental disorders; to persons with developmental disabilities; to infants and toddlers with developmental delays; and to adults and children with family health care needs.

Guadalupe Valley Christian Counseling Center (GVCCC) is a non-profit Christian agency supported by area churches. They are clinically trained and experienced professionals who utilize the tools of the psychotherapeutic fields to help clients achieve optimal mental, emotional and spiritual health.

The Teddy Buerger Center is the only licensed treatment center in Guadalupe County and has been offering outpatient chemical dependency and mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults since 1992. The facility is licensed by The Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (TJC) and The Texas Department of State Health Services (TDH).

NBCM Oakwood Counseling provides Christian-based counseling services from licensed contract counseling staff. Services are offered to children, adolescents, and adults through individual, marital, and/or family counseling.

24-Hour PTSD Trauma Helpline: 877-717-7873 - The Mission of the PTSD Foundation of America is to bring hope and healing to Combat Veterans and their families suffering from the effects of combat-related Post Traumatic Stress. Their services also assist non-combat Veterans, Active Military and Law Enforcement.  

Victim Support & Resources

If you’ve been the victim of a crime, the New Braunfels Police Department is here to support you. We offer resources, guidance, and connections to local and state services that can help you recover and navigate the legal process. Services may include:

  • Help with applying for Crime Victim Compensation
  • Protective order information and referrals
  • Support with court accompaniment and victim impact statements
  • Safety planning and emergency housing referrals
  • Confidential guidance from trained Victim Services Liaisons
