On February 15, 2024, at approximately 11:15pm, officers with the New Braunfels Police Department were called to Resolute Hospital in the 500 block of Creekside Crossing after hospital staff reported that someone had arrived at the emergency room with stab wounds.
The victim, a 39-year old male from Seguin, had suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was able to speak to officers. He indicated that the stabbing had taken place in a parking lot near the intersection of Spur Street and South Hidalgo Avenue.
Officers were able to locate the crime scene and then located a suspect inside a residence in the 200 block of School Avenue. The suspect, identified as 55-year old Jose Luis Rodriguez of New Braunfels, was arrested without incident and taken to the Comal County Jail where he was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and he was also booked on a Parole Violation warrant.
As of this release, the suspect remains in custody and bond has not yet been set. The incident remains under investigation by the NBPD Criminal Investigations Division and additional charges may be pending.
