The City of New Braunfels is inviting residents to honor local veterans at this year’s Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony in downtown New Braunfels. The event is this Saturday, November 12th, 2022, beginning at 9am.
Residents are encouraged to line the streets along the parade route, which begins at North Castell Ave. at Bridge St., turns onto East San Antonio St., travels around the Main Plaza, turns onto South Liberty Ave., and then ends at Prince Solms Park. The parade will be led by Grand Marshal Lieutenant General Richard E. “Tex” Brown III, a 34-year veteran of the US Air Force who flew 140 combat missions and was highly decorated for his achievements in combat operations. The parade will also feature several local veterans’ organizations, floats from local non-profit agencies, and a military airplane flyover.
At 10am, once the parade is complete, a ceremony will be held at the Prince Solms Park Veterans Monument featuring comments from local dignitaries as well as special speaker Col. Doug “Stoli” Nikolai, who spent 25 years as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force.
Again, the annual Veterans Day Parade begins at 9am on the streets of downtown New Braunfels, with a Veterans Day ceremony in Prince Solms Park beginning at 10am.
