20th Annual Wein and Saengerfest in Downtown New Braunfels on May 6th

Wein and Saengerfest

The 20th Annual Wein and Saengerfest celebration returns to downtown New Braunfels on Saturday, May 6th, 2023, from 12pm to 9pm. New Braunfels residents and visitors are invited to wander the shops of historic downtown New Braunfels while listening to live music, sampling wine and craft beer from a variety of Texas-based vendors, participating in family-friendly activities, and snacking on treats from local food merchants.

Wein and Saengerfest is a free event, but wine and beer tasting tickets as well as souvenir wine and beer glasses are available for purchase. Proceeds from the event benefit the New Braunfels Downtown Association and the New Braunfels Parks Foundation and will be used for downtown beautification and enhancement projects. This year’s event is presented by the City of New Braunfels, Estes Audiology, the New Braunfels Parks Foundation, the New Braunfels Elks, and the New Braunfels Downtown Association

A variety of activities and events will be available throughout the day, including the brand new Hinterhof (which is German for “backyard”). Hinterhof is a section of the festival featuring live acoustic music by local artists, activities for kids and families, shopping, food, and drinks. Wein and Saengerfest also features a variety of food trucks, wine and craft beer educational seminars, and shopping at downtown storefronts as well as local and regional vendors.

The festival begins at 12pm on Saturday, May 6th, with live music happening throughout the day on the main stage, including David Beck’s Tejano Weekend, The Fab 5 (a Beatles tribute band), and Suede – an award-winning cover band based out of Austin playing the greatest Rock hits! Families are encouraged to dance in the streets or bring lawn chairs to make themselves more comfortable. There are also VIP tickets for sale that include souvenir wine glasses, wine/beer tasting tickets, a festival t-shirt and poster, as well as access to VIP areas.

Again, Wein and Saengerfest is a free event in downtown New Braunfels. The streets around the Main Plaza will be closed throughout the day. This includes San Antonio St. between Academy Ave. and Comal Ave. as well as Seguin Ave. between Coll St. and Mill St. Free parking is available in the New Braunfels City Hall parking lot (located at 550 Landa St.) and a free park-and-ride shuttle from that location to the downtown festival will be available from 11am to 10pm.
