Wassailfest 2023 Set for Dec. 7th in Downtown New Braunfels

The City of New Braunfels is once again partnering with the New Braunfels Downtown Association for Wassailfest 2023! The annual event is set for December 7th, 2023, in the streets of downtown New Braunfels, beginning at 6pm with the official Wassail Toast from New Braunfels Mayor Neal Linnartz.

Beyond the traditional Wassailstops, this year’s event will also feature a free park-and-ride shuttle from 5pm to 11pm, taking wassailers from City Hall on Landa Street to the downtown area. There will also be non-profit food vendors, shopping specials, and extended hours at downtown businesses. Plus, look for holiday entertainment from local choir groups, happening on two stages – the Main Plaza Bandstand and on Seguin Avenue near the Faust Hotel. Here’s the lineup for those stages:

“Wassailfest has become an iconic local event that highlights the warmth and charm of our beautiful and historic downtown at the holidays,” said Mayor Neal Linnartz. “We hope residents and visitors find their way downtown for this festive event where they can raise a glass of Wassail and support our local non-profit agencies and downtown businesses.”

Several street closures around downtown will affect driving routes from 4:00pm to 11:00pm, including:

  • All of Main Plaza
  • Seguin Ave. (from Mill St. to Coll St.)
  • San Antonio St. (from S. Academy Ave. to S. Gilbert Ave.)
  • Castell Ave. (from Mill St. to the alley behind the Antique Mall)

Drivers are asked to remove their vehicles from these areas prior to 4pm.
