UPDATE: The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has informed the City of New Braunfels that they will be postponing the Landa Street Railroad Underpass closure in order to redesign a portion of the project, allowing for additional masonry work on the rock retaining wall in the area. The project is expected to be rescheduled in approximately one month.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has informed the City of New Braunfels that they will implement a full closure of the Landa Street Railroad Underpass beginning at 8am on Monday, February 12th.
The full closure, which will be in place 24-hours a day, is anticipated to last approximately 3 weeks for TxDOT contractors to remove and replace the rock retaining wall and sidewalk in the area of the railroad underpass.
The full road closure will begin on the east side of the underpass at Zink Street and on the west side of the underpass near the Wurstfest driveway, leaving Landa Park Drive open throughout the project. Detours will be in place, directing drivers to San Antonio Street and Walnut Avenue to get around the closure.
Construction is anticipated to finish in early March, but is dependent on weather and other factors. Drivers should expect minor delays in the area and may wish to find alternate routes.
