The City of New Braunfels will host a public open house to go over the proposed plan to install a hike and bike trail segment along a portion of Waterway Lane. The open house is set for Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, at the NBU Service Center on FM 306.
The City initially completed a preliminary design for an extension of Waterway Lane and presented it at a public meeting in August of 2021. However, input from the public during that meeting strongly opposed the development of a roadway segment. Based on that feedback, the City reviewed other options for implementing alternative transportation solutions and worked with consultants to develop a conceptual design for a hike and bike trail from Gruene Road to Old FM 306. This meeting will give the public a chance to review those plans and provide feedback before the City submits the hike and bike trail project to TxDOT for construction grant funding.
Again, the Waterway Lane open house is set for Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, at the NBU Service Center, located at 355 FM 306.
