The City of New Braunfels was recently honored with four awards from the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO). Each year, at the TAMIO annual conference, the organization honors cities across the state for their efforts in communicating and marketing to residents and visitors.
This year’s TAMIO conference, held the first week of June in Fort Worth, had over 659 entries for awards in 29 categories. New Braunfels received first place (known as the TAMI Award) in three categories:
- Best Social Media Post (for population 50,000 - 150,000) for the “No Sharks in the Guadalupe” social media post
- Best Planned Marketing Campaign (population 50,000 – 150,000) for the Disposable Container Reeducation Campaign
- Best Planned Social Media Campaign (population over 100,000) for the Resident River Parking Pass Campaign
New Braunfels also received the Award of Honor (third place) in the Best Educational PSA Video (population 75,000 - 150,000) for the NBPD SRO Welcome Video.
This is the fifth year in a row that New Braunfels has received awards at the TAMIO annual conference.
- In 2021, New Braunfels received the Award of Excellence (second place) for External Communications during COVID (for cities with a population less than 100,000) as well as the Award of Honor (third place) for a series of COVID-related public service announcement videos.
- In 2022, New Braunfels earned the Award of Excellence (second place) for the Perk Your Park Marketing Plan/Campaign (for cities with under 100,000 residents) as well as the Award of Excellence (second place) for Best Use of Social Media – Planned (for cities with a population between 75,000 and 100,000).
- In 2023, New Braunfels received the Award of Excellence (second place) for the redesign of the City’s website as well as the Award of Honor (third place) for the Best Use of Short-Form Video (for cities with a population of under 100,000).
- In 2024, New Braunfels earned first place for Best Recurring Special Event (for cities with populations over 75,000) for the 2023 Wein & Saengerfest event. New Braunfels also received the Award of Excellence (second place) for Best Marketing Plan or Campaign (for cities with a population between 50,000 and 150,000) for the 2023 Bond marketing campaign.
