Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

New Braunfels Police Department Posted on September 11, 2025

On September 10, 2025, at approximately 12pm, officers with the New Braunfels Police Department were called to the Chase Bank location in the 1600 block of State Highway 46 West for a report of a bank robbery. Officers arrived to find that an adult white male had entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect then left the location in a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

Detectives with the New Braunfels Police Department Criminal Investigations Division began their investigation, and they were able to quickly identify a suspect and issue a warrant for his arrest. On today’s date (09/11/25), at approximately 9am, NBPD Detectives and Street Crimes Unit officers served the arrest warrant at a residence in the 18000 block of I-35 North in Schertz where they were able to recover the stolen money and the note that had been handed to the teller. The suspect, 58-year old Michael Dean Hicks of Schertz, was arrested without incident and transported to the Comal County Jail where he was charged with Robbery. As of this release, bond had not yet been set. This case remains under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
