Texas Senate Bill 1008: Changes to Alcohol Permitting Fees - Read the Full Update
Effective September 1, 2025, SB 1008 changes how alcohol permitting fees are assessed in New Braunfels. The City will no longer collect Alcohol Permitting Fees fromany establishment that:
- Holds a valid health permit from the City Health & Food Safety Division, or
- Has paid a fee to operate as a food service establishment to DSHS or any other local jurisdiction.
If your business only sells alcohol and does not serve food or hold a health or food establishment permit, then you will still be required to pay the Alcohol Permitting Fee to the City of New Braunfels.
