Retirement
Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS)

The City provides membership to all full-time and most part-time employees for the Texas Municipal Retirement System. Employee contributes 7% of gross income (pre-tax); the City matches the contribution at a rate of 2:1. The employee becomes vested with the City of New Braunfels after 5 years of service.
Employees become eligible for retirement at 20 years of service or 5 years of service and age 60. Employees with public service at another entity may apply for service credit toward total years of service. Upon retirement, TMRS provides monthly income for retirees that will include the City's contribution match.

Tania Glenn Program: The Tania Glenn program offers counseling and support to first responders and their families, with their vision being to provide the best and most effective care through proven counseling and consultation techniques for patients experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety and mood disorders, family/relationship issues, stress, trauma, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
