Unattended Death
New Braunfels, Texas — On May 16, 2016, at approximately 8:20pm, the New Braunfels Police Department and New Braunfels Fire Department were dispatched to a home in the 6300 block of Myrtle Run for reports of a 53-year old man who was found unconscious and not breathing by family members. First responders arrived and began life saving measures before transporting the man to Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels where he was then pronounced deceased.
The deceased man has since been identified as Emilio H. Navaira III, the Tejano and Country musician. Next of kin has been notified. New Braunfels Police Detectives were called to the scene and the preliminary results of the investigation indicate that Navaira died of natural causes, however, a final determination will be made by the medical examiner following an autopsy, which was ordered by Justice of the Peace for Pct. 3 Mike Rust.
