UPDATE: The victim in the overnight fatality traffic accident has been identified as 28-year old Liliana Fraire of Guadalupe County. Next of kin has been notified.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: On August 20, 2018 at approximately 2:19 AM the New Braunfels Police Department and the New Braunfels Fire Department responded to the intersection of FM 725 and South Bank BLVD, regarding a crash involving a single motor vehicle.
A 2006 Ford F150, driven by a 28-year-old New Braunfels woman, was traveling southbound on FM 725 approaching South Bank BLVD. According to a witness, the traffic light changed to red and the F150 attempted to stop suddenly. The driver lost control of the F150 and it struck the metal pole of the traffic light on the driver’s door. The driver of the F150 was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was the sole occupant in the vehicle.
This incident is still under investigation by the New Braunfels Police Department.
