UPDATE: The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has informed the City of New Braunfels that they will be postponing the Landa Street Railroad Underpass closure to April 22.

UPDATE: Starting Monday, April 15, TxDOT will completely close the Landa Street Railroad Underpass in order to remove and replace the retaining wall and sidewalk in that area. This project was initially set to begin on Feb. 12, but was put on hold to redesign a portion of the project, allowing for additional masonry work on the rock retaining wall in the area.
Construction is expected to be complete by late spring. Detours on either side of the underpass will direct drivers towards Walnut Avenue and San Antonio Street. Landa Park Drive will remain open throughout the project. Drivers should expect minor delays and may wish to find alternate routes.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has informed the City of New Braunfels that they will implement a full closure of the Landa Street Railroad Underpass beginning at 8am on Monday, February 12th.
The full closure, which will be in place 24-hours a day, is anticipated to last approximately 3 weeks for TxDOT contractors to remove and replace the rock retaining wall and sidewalk in the area of the railroad underpass.
The full road closure will begin on the east side of the underpass at Zink Street and on the west side of the underpass near the Wurstfest driveway, leaving Landa Park Drive open throughout the project. Detours will be in place, directing drivers to San Antonio Street and Walnut Avenue to get around the closure.
Construction is anticipated to finish in early March, but is dependent on weather and other factors. Drivers should expect minor delays in the area and may wish to find alternate routes.
