The City of New Braunfels will host an open house-style public input meeting to go over the preliminary designs for two projects approved by voters during the 2023 Bond Election. This come-and-go meeting will give residents a chance to view project schematics, review the overall layout and design components of the projects, and provide feedback on the plans before the completion of the final design and construction begins.
The Open House public meeting for the Barbarosa Road/Saur Lane Improvement project (from FM 1101 to Saengerhalle Road) and the Kohlenberg Road Improvement Project (FM 1101 to IH-35) will be held on Wednesday June 12th, 2024, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the NBU Service Center, located at 355 FM 306.
The Barbarosa Road/Saur Lane Improvement project includes widening Barbarosa Road/Saur Lane from two lanes to four lanes with sidewalks, turn lanes, and traffic signal improvements at major intersections, as well as improved drainage infrastructure.
The Kohlenberg Road Improvement Project includes widening Kohlenberg Road to a four-lane road with sidewalks, adding a median, turn lanes, a new traffic signal, and improving drainage infrastructure.
“As the City prepares to begin work on the projects approved by voters in the 2023 bond election, we want to keep residents informed,” said Transportation and Capital Improvements Director Garry Ford. “Meetings like these are great opportunities for residents to learn more about each project, ask questions, and provide valuable feedback as we go into final design and before construction begins on these projects.”
